We suggest you install a 16 to 32 inch bar horizontally positioned at 33 inches to 36 inches from the toilet floor to the upper part of the grab bar for maximum accessibility. Two grab bars shall be installed on the back wall one located in accordance with 609 4 and the other located 8 inches 205 mm minimum and 10 inches 255 mm maximum above the rim of the bathtub. In most cases studs are located 16 inches apart on center. This bar should extend at least 16 inches above it and be screwed securely into the stud inside the wall.

Generally a 16 in grab bar or a grab bar that is a multiple of 16 16 in 32 in or 48 in works best. It is helpful to use this range as a guide for placement but the most important part is selecting a height that feels comfortable and secure for the person using them. Each grab bar shall be installed 15 inches 380 mm maximum from the head end wall and 12 inches 305 mm maximum from the control end wall. It is best to install two bars on either side of the toilet seat for maximum stability when the user is getting up or sitting on the toilet seat.

Position two bars on the toilet wall one aligned parallel to the floor and about 5 or 6 inches above the seat this bar should be at least 32 inches long and extend at least 12 inches past the front of the bowl and another bar perpendicular to the end of this horizontal bar. The toilet paper dispenser shall be mounted below the grab bar at a minimum height of 19 inches 485 mm. Normally grab bars that are fastened to the wall by a toilet are placed at a height of 33 to 36 inches that s 840 to 915 mm. My recommendation is if it s possible to test it by simulating it with the elderly person who will be using it.
