Torch Applied Roof Membrane

The torch applied member of the modified family is marketed as a rubber membrane which is very misleading due to the fact that the modifiers or additives used in the manufacturing formula actually contains no rubber at all.

This installation process gives torch down roofing a uniquely watertight seal making it a great choice wherever water damage is a serious concern. Torch down roofing consists of multiple modified bitumen membranes applied with a propane torch. Atactic polypropylene app is heat torch applied modified bitumen membrane that provides a greater re cover system uv resistance and increased durability for roofs with high traffic movement. App atactic polypropylene uses plastic type modifiers not rubber.

In a two layer torch down roof the system is complete at this point. They were designed to reduce labor requirements for installation and have become increasingly popular over bur system applications. When the two layers are pressed together they form a seal. The workhorse paradiene 20 tg base ply absorbs roof stresses while the granule surfaced top ply paradiene 30 tg shields the base from the elements and mechanical abuse.

The top membrane sheet to a torch down roofing system is a smooth cap sheet. Demonstrating how torch applied modified bitumen felt membranes are installed along with high performance insulation to create a warm roof construction.
